WATER PUMPING PROJECT – ZGHARTA
A solar-powered water pumping solution developed in Zgharta to provide reliable and efficient water delivery while reducing dependence on conventional electricity and fuel-powered pumping systems.
Project Overview
CES designed and implemented a solar photovoltaic water pumping system in Zgharta, Lebanon. The project uses solar energy to power the pumping equipment, providing a practical and sustainable solution for water management in an agricultural and rural environment.
The photovoltaic installation consists of 66 solar panels rated at 545 W each, providing a total installed solar capacity of approximately 35.970 kWp. The panels were installed on ground-mounted support structures and positioned to make effective use of the available site area.
A 30 kW solar pumping inverter controls the pumping system and converts the electricity generated by the photovoltaic panels into the power required by the water pump. The electrical equipment, protection devices and control components were installed inside a dedicated enclosure for safe and dependable operation.
CES completed the photovoltaic installation, electrical integration, testing and commissioning of the system. The resulting solution supports more efficient water pumping, lower operating costs and reduced reliance on diesel generators or conventional grid electricity.
